The Ithaca Police Department recovered stolen firearms, including a rifle and a shotgun, after a reported theft from a vehicle on Second Street in Ithaca on Friday, which led to the arrest of one individual.

The theft was reported to have occurred overnight, and police officers responded to the 400 block of Second Street at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Friday to investigate.

According to Lieutenant Mary Orsaio, the stolen firearms were recovered at an apartment in Asteri Ithaca, located at 118 East Green Street, as a result of the police investigation.

The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Jordan M. Berrios, an Ithaca resident, was arrested at the scene and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony, and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a class E felony.
