A 25-year-old woman from Lansing was arrested Tuesday and charged with third-degree robbery following an incident at a business on the Ithaca Commons.

The Tioga County, New York Sheriff’s Office was using the drone to search for a reported missing person in the area, checking nearby fields, creeks, and railroad tracks, when the incident occurred, and the shot was witnessed by the drone operator and assisting deputies.

Two years ago this week, a retired Monroe County jail deputy was killed in a crash in the town of Walworth. The other driver, who was 18-years-old at the time, was issued traffic tickets by a town court judge after he was found guilty of running a stop sign without a license.

A federal judge in California, turning away a challenge by New York and other blue states, has ruled the Trump administration may resume sharing biographical, location and contact data about unauthorized immigrants receiving public health insurance benefits with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, starting in January.
